Need For ACCI
There are many trade associations.
There are a large number of trade associations taking care of the interests of trade and commerce. Still, the needs of MSMEs and budding entrepreneurs from hitherto neglected sections of the society and the specific needs of the women entrepreneurs are yet to be addressed fully. Systematic development of entrepreneurship in an organized and accelerated pace is not visible. Exactly, with such objective of filling up the gap in developmental efforts, an exclusive Chamber of Commerce & Industry is established with needed focus on “Affirmative” actions. Affirmative Chamber of Commerce & Industry – ACCI – to ensure development and growth of entrepreneurship in India, and particularly in Karnataka.

ACCI is to take care of the interests of all stakeholders, with
Inclusive focus on MSMEs and entrepreneurs from rural background and hitherto neglected sections of the society – socially and economically – and women entrepreneurs, indifferent sectors of trade, commerce and industry (goods and services sectors). Its uniqueness is to extend assistance to stakeholders by resolving disputes and issues, with the help of professional experts and consultative groups, besides addressing the sector-wise common issues with the State and Central Governments. It works as one of the “think tank” chambers in policy formulations and implementation of overall industrial and economic development in India to ensure accelerated growth of National GDP.

Objectives Of ACCI
- To act as one of the main nodal Chambers for irnteraction with the States and Central Government as a “Think Tank Chamber” for formulation of policies, programmes for development of entrepreneurship, industry and commerce.
- To act as an exclusive Chamber for inclusive and affirmative action and initiatives for creation of entrepreneurship, with focus on MSMEs and entrepreneurs from socially and economically weaker sections of the society and women entrepreneurs for development and sustained growth of Industry and Commerce through continued training and skill development programs.
- To publish documents containing best practices and policies that reconcile and integrate the best research and evidence on economic, social and political reforms, including governance, and thus, to act as a policy clearing house for entrepreneurs as a whole, with particular reference to identification of sectors / sections needed for affirmative actions.
- To network with various industries, organizations, citizen groups etc., to determine and influence public policy for entrepreneurship development.
- To undertake / encourage research and publication of literature on issues relating to politics, economy, governance, and society at large and entrepreneurship development in particular.
- To open Chapters in other States to expand its functions and activities, in future.
- To associate with similar NGOs to plan and do the needful for development of trade & industry, particularly in MSME sector.
- To organize and conduct seminars, workshops and study circles, document material and conduct research programmes, field work and surveys, engage itself directly or indirectly in arranging and entrepreneurial development oriented activities.
- To prepare audio visual and other educational and training materials, print and circulates training and development oriented educational materials of other organizations.
- To evaluate development programmes needed for inclusive and affirmative policy initiatives and action in India, engage in activities to sustain the activities as entrepreneurial development with particular focus on MSME and development of entrepreneurship in socially and economically neglected sections of the society.
- To foster wide dissemination of best policies and to train potential policy makers and entrepreneurs.
- To do all such acts as are or will be necessary to achieve the objectives in a fruitful and purposeful manner.
