I cited the official Mudra portal and government sites above — these are the most load-bearing sources for eligibility, categories and where to apply.

Additional supportive documents (strongly recommended)

Mudra common loan application & bank form

  • Use the bank’s Mudra loan application — most banks accept the common Mudra application; if the branch gives a bank specific form, fill that too. A Mudra “Common loan application form” and guidance is available from mudra.org; include completed copies in the folder. Mudra+1

4) Sample Project Report (DPR) for a Quick Sip RTD Coffee & Tea unit — structure + example content

Use this as the DPR in section F. Keep it concise (3–8 pages) for working-capital loans.

A. Title page — Business name, address, proprietor name, contact, date.
B. Executive Summary (1 paragraph)

  • Short business description, product lines (RTD coffee — 250 ml PET glass/bottles; RTD tea — 250 ml), yearly capacity, existing turnover (last 12 months), loan requested and purpose.
  • Example: “Quick Sip — manufacturer of RTD coffee & tea, located at [address]. Current average monthly turnover ₹600,000 (annual ₹7.2 lakh). Seeking working capital loan of ₹5,50,000 to finance raw material, packing, and dealer credit.” (Edit numbers for your business).

C. Business & Promoter Profile

  • Promoter(s) background, years in beverage trade, experiences, number of employees, operating days per month.

D. Product & Process (short)

  • Raw materials: coffee concentrate/tea extract, blended spices (if any), sweetener (sugar), preservatives (as per FSSAI), water, PET bottles/cans, caps, labels.
  • Process: blending → mixing → filling → capping → labeling → packing → storage → dispatch.

E. Installed capacity & Utilization

  • Installed capacity (litres per month) and current utilization percentage (e.g., installed 50,000 litres/month, currently using 40% = 20,000 litres). State per month production units.

F. Market & Sales

  • Target customers (local distributors/retailers/kiosks), average selling price/unit, major buyers or contracts.

G. Financial Summary (table: last 12 months turnover, gross margin, net profit or cash profit). Include projected figures for next 12 months after loan.

H. Working Capital Requirement (show calculation — use template below) — break up into Inventory, Receivables, Payables, and required margin.

I. Use of Funds

  • Exactly how loan will be used (e.g., Raw-material purchase ₹3,50,000; Packing materials ₹1,00,000; Contingency / short term cash ₹50,000). Be precise.

J. Repayment Proposal

  • Proposed repayment schedule for working capital: often banks ask for CC/OD limit with annual review or monthly/quarterly installments; suggest repayment from sales receipts; show cash flow to demonstrate capacity.

K. Annexures

  • Supplier quotations, sample invoices, photos of unit, machinery lists, sales invoices.

(Include bank statements and invoices as the annexures — shorter DPR reduces delays.)

5) Working-capital calculation — template + real numeric example (step-by-step arithmetic)

Use this formula:
Working capital required = (Raw material inventory) + (Packing inventory) + (Receivables) + (Cash margin for contingencies) − (Creditors / Payables)

Example (numbers chosen to illustrate)

Assumptions (example):

  • Annual turnover = ₹7,20,000 → monthly sales = ₹7,20,000 ÷ 12 = ₹60,000.
  • Cost of goods sold (COGS) = 60% of sales → monthly raw material & direct costs = 60% × ₹60,000.
  • Inventory required = 1 month of raw material costs.
  • Receivables = 25% of monthly sales (if some distributors give 30 days credit).
  • Payables to suppliers = 20% of monthly raw material cost (credit terms).
  • Cash margin / contingency = ₹100,000 (safety buffer).

Compute step by step (digit-by-digit):

  • Monthly sales: 720,000 ÷ 12 = 60,000.
  • Monthly raw material cost (COGS 60%): 60% of 60,000 = 0.60 × 60,000 = 36,000.
    • (Compute: 60,000 × 60% = 36,000.)
  • Inventory (1 month raw material) = ₹36,000.
  • Receivables (25% of monthly sales) = 25% × 60,000 = 0.25 × 60,000 = 15,000.
  • Payables (20% of monthly raw material cost) = 20% × 36,000 = 0.20 × 36,000 = 7,200.
  • Cash margin = ₹100,000.

Now sum and subtract:

  • Inventory + Receivables = 36,000 + 15,000 = 51,000.
    (Compute: 36,000 + 15,000 = 51,000.)
  • Subtract Payables: 51,000 − 7,200 = 43,800.
    (Compute: 51,000 − 7,200 = 43,800.)
  • Add Cash Margin: 43,800 + 100,000 = 143,800.
    (Compute: 43,800 + 100,000 = 143,800.)

Total working capital required = ₹1,43,800 (≈ ₹1.44 lakh).

This template helps you plug in your actual monthly sales and COGS percentage to produce the bank-ready number. (If your numbers are larger, the resulting required WC may fall into Kishore / Tarun categories — compare to the Mudra category limits). Mudra

Example I gave earlier in analysis for a higher turnover (for reference): if monthly raw material was ₹360,000 etc., the same method produced a working capital ~₹5,38,000 — that showed how a real small factory might need ~₹5.4 lakh. Use the template and fill with your real sales & ratios.

6) Repayment & security notes (practical)

  • Mudra loans are primarily collateral-free—many Mudra loans are extended without collateral, but banks may require a charge on assets created out of funds (hypothecation) or promoter guarantees depending on credit appraisal. Be ready to accept hypothecation of current assets & pari passu charge if bank asks. PNB India+1
  • For working-capital, banks commonly provide Cash Credit / Overdraft or a term loan depending on need; show 12-month cash flow to convince the bank of repayment capacity.
  • Provide neat stock & debtors statement and photos of premises; these speed the field verification.

7) Quick checklist for submission & meeting day (practical)

  • Print 2 copies of the folder (bank keeps 1, you keep 1 stamped).
  • Bring original KYC and original Udyam certificate for verification.
  • Carry a formal promoter ID (original Aadhaar and PAN) on the meeting day.
  • Ask for the bank’s Mudra officer / MSME relationship manager specifically.
  • If bank wants CA certified project report or CMA (credit) sheet, get it prepared; many small Mudra loans accept simpler DPR + bookkeeping evidence if turnover is modest. Mudra

8) Templates & short text you can copy/paste (loan form lines)

  • Loan amount requested: ₹ _______
  • Category: Shishu / Kishore / Tarun / Tarun-Plus (tick) — choose according to amount. (See categories above). Mudra
  • Purpose: Working capital for raw material and packing for RTD coffee & tea.
  • Proposed security: Hypothecation of current assets / personal guarantee of proprietor.

9) Next steps I recommend (actionable)

  • Fill the numbers in the DPR template above using your last 12 months sales and monthly average costs. If you want, paste your real numbers here and I’ll calculate the working capital and produce a one-page DPR ready to print.
  • Get copies of last 12 months bank statements and last GST returns (if GST registered).
  • Get Udyam registration (if not already) — it’s quick online and strengthens your case. Udyam Registration
  • Approach your usual bank branch or the nearest branch that processes Mudra loans; hand over the folder and request Mudra / PMMY processing. Mudra

10) Short list of official links (for your reference)

  • MUDRA official portal (offerings, forms, project profiles): Mudra.org.in. Mudra+1
  • PMMY summary & categories (official government press release / PIB). Press Information Bureau
  • Udyam registration portal (official). Udyam Registration
